Tableau and AccessData Announce a Breakthrough In Password Decryption

DoD Cyber Crime Summit, St. Louis, MO, January 22, 2007 - Tableau and AccessData today revealed plans for delivering a joint solution which holds the potential to dramatically accelerate password recovery processing.

Today's announcement holds the promise of dramatically reducing password attack times and is the result of an ongoing collaboration between AccessData and Tableau, both leaders in their respective forensic software and hardware fields. The solution, based upon Tableau's newest product, the TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator, will include password attack support using AccessData's PRTK and DNA products.

"Our ongoing product development and initial testing results are very promising", indicates Robert Botchek, Tableau President and Founder. "We continue to make excellent progress in the the development and testing of this product. We have not accumulated a full set of performance data yet, but we expect our initial solution to deliver performance gains of roughly 150 - 300 times that seen today."

The initial version of the Tableau TACC1441 Hardware Accelerator is built for mounting in a standard 5 1/4 inch wide forensic workstation tower. The TACC1441 is designed to perform extensive parallel computations, yielding performance many times that of Pentium machines. The TACC1441 generates and streams cipher keys to appropriately licensed versions of AccessData's PRTK and DNA software at a much faster rate than individual decryption workstations.

The bundled solution of AccessData software and the Tableau TACC1441 accelerator will be available through existing North American sales channels at a date to be announced.
