Military Objective, Analysis and Exploitation Digital Forensics Course

This intensive, hands-on course is intended for military special operation team members, digital forensic response team members, analysts, and those performing missions and activities that have the potential to require seizing, collecting, analyzing, reporting and storing data, information and intelligence from digital media.

This is the most complete and the most hands-on digital forensics course available. This course begins at a mock-up of a terrorist cell. The students are taught the following skills:

  1. Identification Skills - Students are trained to identify all of the possible types of digital media, information and evidence present at a military target.
  2. Collection Skills - Students are taught proper procedures and methodologies for collecting digital forensics information, data and intelligence. One of the unique features of this course is we not only teach the students how to collect digital intelligence and data, we actually have each student collect that information utilizing world class forensic tools and equipment. Students will collect information, intelligence and all available data from computer hard drives, thumb drives, flash memory cards, cell phones, DVD/CDs, and other types of digital media.
  3. Analytical Skills - Once the students have mastered identification and collection skills, they will be taught how to analyze the collected data, intelligence and information in order to locate, analyze, and exploit all information pertinent to their military target and mission. Again, this is accomplished via hands-on training utilizing world class digital forensics software and computer systems.
  4. Reporting Skills - Students are taught how to prepare the various types of reports from the analysis of the data, information and intelligence. These reports can then be used to further exploit that information and intelligence to accomplish their military mission.
  5. Archiving Skills - The final step of the forensics mission - after the data, information and intelligence is identified, collected, analyzed, reported and exploited to complete or further the military mission - is to ensure that information is properly stored. Students will be trained on correct storage procedures using world class digital forensics archiving equipment and systems.

Every module of this training course includes the academic knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to produce competent and proficient digital forensic investigators, analysts and practitioners.

The following digital forensic systems and equipment will be introduced and used during the hands-on portions of this course:

  • Forensic Imaging Software
  • Handheld Field Unit Imaging Device
  • CD-DVD Imaging System
  • Cell Phone Acquisition and Image System
  • Cellular Jamming Devices
  • Write-Blocking Devices
  • Portable Forensic Workstation
  • Portable Telecommunication Enclosure Devices
